Once a process has been established, a client can elect to allow us to continue operating it under a contract manufacturing agreement. This arrangement is common for ongoing limited-volume requirements.

From the initial proof-of-concept to scaled-up pilot-scale production, we are here to provide the site, labor, facilities, and general support to bring your product to the marketplace. Our pilot plant’s flexibility also allows us to accommodate projects of different sizes, ensuring that our clients receive the specific arrangement they need, regardless of the scale of their production goals. Custom formulating and manufacturing services

In addition to custom synthesis, Specialty Organics offers a full range of custom formulating and manufacturing services. Our pilot plant is stocked with an assortment of equipment to support product development and optimization.

This equipment includes glass and stainless-steel jacketed mixers ranging from 5 gallons to 500 gallons that are designed to handle a variety of chemical processes. We also carry centrifuges, ovens, rotary dryers, distillation columns, heated and cold storage, grinders/mills, and filtration equipment. The plant features access to the full complement of our utilities and facilities, including 480 V electricity, 100 psi air, 150 psi steam, a cooling water tower, a chiller, and vacuum systems to meet the demands of any project. It has engineered ventilation, explosion-proof electrical, and secondary containment berms.

In addition to our production capabilities, we maintain an in-house quality control lab to test and verify the consistency and quality of our products. We also have laboratory glass systems available, providing the necessary tools for product formulation and development.

Organic and metal-organic synthesis

Specialty Organics performs both organic and metal-organic synthesis. We have years of experience producing magnesium methoxide, a versatile compound used in processes like biodiesel production and organic synthesis. Magnesium ethoxide, another product we have experience with, is used for polymer catalysis, including biodegradable polyesters. Magnesium ethoxide is produced using renewable ethanol and has numerous other uses that include facilitating the production of pharmaceuticals, vitamin E synthesis, preparation of sol-gels for optical coatings, and the production of sorbents used in the sequestration of contaminants from wastewater or industrial exhaust flue gases. These metal-organic compounds are essential in multiple industrial applications, contributing to the advancement of sustainable technologies.
